National Flying Competition (NFC) 2020

The College of Engineering at Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology organised an incredible event named “NATIONAL FLYING COMPETITION 2020 (NFC-20)” from 14th to 16th February, 2020 at its Main Campus, PAF Base Korangi Creek and at PAF Airmen Golf Club. The mega event gave Avionics / Aerodynamics enthusiasts of universities, colleges and schools to cope with the increasing level of competition in the new era.

NFC was a unique and multi-faceted event of Drones and Remote Controlled Aircrafts involving young participants, to provoke their enthusiasm in Avionics and also for experienced designers from renowned universities. A total of 8 exciting competitions were conducted in event, including Battle of Drones, Hell in a Cell, Clash of Gliders, AIR COMBAT, Aero Quiz, Aero-Build-Fly, Delivery Boy, MAMA BUG and various other junior junkies competitions for budding engineers representing various schools and colleges across Pakistan.

More than 200 students from various universitiesand schools participated in the event. Participants from NED University, PAF-Risalpur, NUST, Bahria University, Sir Syed University of Engineering, KIET and others participated in the senior level engineering related competitions. Children from schools and colleges participated in junior design competitions. The event also featured an incredible Air Show by MASK Club.

Chief Guestof the ceremony, Mr Sarim Burney, a well known Human Right activist and founder of Sarim Burney Welfare Trust, expressed his profound pleasure while viewing the fly competitions by senior and junior participants.

President Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology AVM Tubrez Asif (R) lauded the efforts of the organizing team for conducting an extremely useful and meaningful activity at the Institute. He praised the efforts of the students and faculty while emphasizing the role of such competitions and modern research in the development of Pakistan. He thanked the Chief Guests for his presence.
